Who We Are
Hi! I’m Tabitha
I’ve had a camera in my hand since 2005 when I picked up my parents’ 8MP Kodak Easyshare and started taking photos of flowers in the backyard.
Over the years, I’ve almost ended up in about 10 different professions, but the road always came back to photography.
When I’m not planning a session, or editing photos, or drawing up paperwork and contracts, or doing my own accounting, or being a social media manager, you will likely find me somewhere cozy reading a book. OR possibly somewhere un-cozy, hiking. And then finding a good spot to read a book.

2005
Tabitha takes the first photo she's proud of.
She gets it framed.

2007
Tabitha photographs every plant she sees.
She decides “National Geographic Photographer” is her dream job.

2008
Her siblings make for the great practice photographing not-plants, and become her somewhat-willing models.
Her favorite editing software is PicMonkey.

2009
She would have launched her photography career much sooner if she'd been on tumblr this year.

2010
She discovers vignette.
She gets paid $40 to take family photos.

2011
She teaches ESL to Cambodian kindergarteners for a year and they happily model as part of the lesson plan.

2014
Tabitha is in college and has decided to pursue politics. However, she still enjoys taking photos. So Sarah, her forever model, once again gets in front of the camera.

2015
Tabitha graduates from college and realizes working for the state department is not the move…
(She considers working for a nonprofit longterm)

2016
…so she volunteers abroad…
(She thinks about going to seminary)

2017
…for several years…
(She dreams about how cool and unlikely it would be to do art full time)

2018
…and takes photos of the places and the people she meets.
(She almost applies to grad programs for psych)

2019
She decides she's done volunteering and gets a job at a coffee shop. She takes photos while she figures out what the hell she’s doing with her life.

2020
She FINALLY decides to call herself a photographer and starts Tabitha Brooke Photography. But it's quarantine-times, so she takes lots of self portraits.
She also moves to Nashville.

2021
She starts building her clientele, playing with studio set ups, and meeting other creatives.
She does her first shoot with an artist and loves it.

2022
She quits all of her side hustles and goes full time, shooting weddings, portraits, and stock photos.
She starts getting asked to provide a website (it doesn’t exist yet).

2023
She takes more photos she's deeply proud of.
She shoots her first music video.
A lot of people ask to see her website (it still doesn’t exist).

2024
She finally launches this website and rebrands as Tabitha Turner Visuals.
